The Company:

FINCA Limited (Malawi), a subsidiary of FINCA Impact Finance (FIF), is a deposit-taking microfinance institution in Malawi operating through 22 (twenty-two) service outlets serving borrowers and savers in rural, urban, and peri-urban areas in Malawi.

FINCA Limited (Malawi) is increasing access to its services and products through alternate channels. To strengthen our team and prepare the institution for the challenges ahead, FINCA Limited (Malawi) is looking for interested qualified persons for the above-listed position.

 

Brief description of the job:

The Driver performs tasks related to driving FINCA Limited (Malawi) vehicles entrusted to him/her in a safe and economical manner in conjunction with FINCA Limited (Malawi) policy, traffic laws and regulations of the Republic of Malawi.

 

Key Result Areas:

• Perform tasks related to driving FINCA Limited (Malawi) vehicles entrusted to you in a safe and economical manner in conjunction with FINCA Limited (Malawi) policy, traffic laws and regulations of the Republic of Malawi.
• Inform the supervisor in writing immediately about mechanical problems, which result from normal use, accident, or theft. Ensure they are repaired without disruption to the operations of the organization.
• Inform the supervisor in writing, a week in advance, when the vehicle is due for service, and you will be held responsible if the car breaks down due to failure to service it when it is due. Always ensure the car is in good mechanical condition.
• Wear seat belts and ensure that your passengers wear seat belts at all times when the vehicle is moving. You are responsible for your passengers and will be to blame if they do not use seat belts.
• Submit the weekly mileage forms for the previous week on the first business day of the subsequent week to the Supervisor for review.
• Obey the speed limits and all other laws pertaining to drivers in Malawi.
• Return all receipts and documents related to delivery run errands including and not limited to delivering documents, materials to your supervisor or management as directed by your supervisor or management.
• Inform your supervisor in writing, two months in advance when the road license and third-party insurance are due for renewal and process renewal one month before the expiry date.
• Wash the vehicle daily every morning before taking off for any errands.
• Check the vehicle each morning before driving and maintain a checklist of procedures performed for your supervisor’s inspection.

 

Person Specifications

Qualifications:

• MSCE or ‘O’ Level certificate and valid Driver’s license for classes B, C, and E.

Job Skills:

• Ability to work under pressure, excellent communication, and interpersonal skills, cooperative and social.
• Defensive driving skills.

Experience:

• Minimum of five years’ experience in driving position.
