FINCA Malawi was established in 1994 to support small business development through the village banking model. In 2016, we became the first microfinance institution in Malawi to accept deposits. Today, we offer individual loans, savings, and insurance products designed to fit each customer and their evolving needs.

With 23 branches, banking agents, and mobile channels, we make it convenient for customers across Malawi to access responsible banking services any time of day or night. In addition, we offer financial literacy training through our FINCA eXpress agents, which empowers our customers to make informed decisions about their finances.

FINCA Malawi is a subsidiary of FINCA Microfinance Coöperatief U.A., a Dutch holding company owned by FINCA Microfinance Holding Company LLC (FMH). FMH is a socially-responsible investment partnership that owns and operates microfinance institutions and banks worldwide. Client Protection Certified

FINCA Malawi has earned silver level Client Protection Certification, granted by global rating agency ISR, based on guidelines provided by Cerise+SPTF. This certification indicates that FINCA Malawi meets all standards necessary for adequate Client Protection found in Cerise+SPTF’s Universal Standards for Social Performance Management and demonstrates progress toward advanced practice.
