Charles Anderson Bello
CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER
Charles Anderson Bello
Charles Anderson Bello is a Fellow of the Chartered Bankers Institute in Scotland, a certified Associate of the London School of Banking and Finance, and a Chartered Associate of the Institute of Bankers in South Africa who brings to FINCA vast knowledge and experience in the financial industry and aims to steer the Malawi team in achieving its strategic objectives.
He brings to FINCA over 20 twenty years of work experience in the financial industry after previously working with various financial institutions including Future Savings and Credit Cooperatives Limited as General Manager, NBS as Head of Revenue Assurance and Data Integrity and FDH as Head of Operations and Projects.
Charles holds a Master’s Degree in Business Administration (Banking and Finance) from Bangor University, UK and a Bachelor’s Degree in Finance Services from Manchester University, United Kingdom.
Charles joined the FINCA family in March, 2023 after his appointment by the Board of Directors of FINCA Malawi.

Joan Gausi
CHIEF COMMERCIAL OFFICER
Joan Gausi
Joan Gausi is an intelligent, reliable and devoted team player who devotes her work to solving problems. With 15 years of experience in the microfinance and banking industry, Joan performs several roles at FINCA Malawi including ultimate monitoring of all banking operations.
Joan joined FINCA Malawi as Banking Services Manager in April 2014 and rose to the position of Head of Banking Services in May 2016 and then to the role of Chief Operating Officer before attaining her current position of Chief Commercial Officer. Prior to joining FINCA, Joan worked at Opportunity International Bank of Malawi (OIBM), NBS Bank and First Merchant Bank where she held several positions including Treasury Back Office and Settlement Manager.
Joan holds a Master of Business Administration (Finance) from Don Bosco University, India and a Bachelor of Accountancy Degree from Exploits University, Malawi.

Esther Sikelo
CHIEF FINANCE OFFICER
Esther Sikelo
Esther Sikelo is a registered Accountant with Institute of Chartered Accountants in Malawi (ICAM). She is a hardworking, trustworthy and accountable person. She is responsible for financial reporting, budgeting process and day-to-day operations of FINCA Limited. Apart from managing the finance activities, she is also responsible for managing the administration department.
Esther has over 18 years’ experience in Microfinance. She joined FINCA Limited in 2004 as a Loan Officer and has served in several position before rising to the position of Chief Financial Officer, a position she holds up to date. Furthermore, Esther has also worked with FINCA Zambia as Finance Consultant helping the subsidiary aligning all its financial activities.
Esther holds a Bachelor of Accountancy Degree from Exploits University, Malawi and a Diploma in Accounting (ACCA) through Malawi College of Accountancy. Currently, she is studying towards attaining a Masters’ degree.

Joseph D Kandeya
HEAD OF LEGAL AND COMPANY SECRETARY
Joseph D Kandeya
Joseph Kandeya is a qualified lawyer with a Bachelor of Laws Degree (Honours) from the University of Malawi’s school of law and Bachelor of Education from Mzuzu University. He is admitted to the Malawi bar to practice law in the courts of the country without conditions.
Being a trustworthy FINCA Malawi attorney, Joseph’s passion is always to pursue integrity and dependability in order to ensure that our legal team and FINCA Malawi in general, together with its stakeholders, soar to greater heights. His everyday roles include providing legal support to operations of FINCA Malawi, ensuring compliance with microfinance/ banking regulations, implementing and supporting good corporate governance and representing FINCA Malawi before courts and administrative agencies.
Joseph joined FINCA Malawi in June, 2020, as Head of Legal and Company Secretary. Before FINCA, Joseph worked with Liberty General Insurance Company Limited for 6 years as Legal Manager and Company Secretary where he also acted as Human Resources Manager and Risk and Compliance Manager. Prior to Liberty General Insurance, he worked with the Ministry of Justice in the department of Legal Aid as well as in the Malawi Judiciary.

Hamlett Peter Kamtengeni
RISK AND COMPLIANCE MANAGER
Hamlett Peter Kamtengeni
Hamlett Peter Kamtengeni is a trained and experienced banker by profession with seventeen years’ experience working in the banking industry with a focus on Internal Controls, Risk and Compliance management. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Applied Accounting, Audit and Information Systems from Malawi College of Accountancy. He has also attended various banking courses that enabled him to acquire other financial services-related certificates ranging from anti-money laundering, credit, marketing, business continuity and disaster recovery to risk and compliance management. Hamlett is also a certified Trainer of Trainers in Tip-Off Anonymous (a whistle-blowing tool) and Money Laundering.
Being a hardworking, committed and honest individual with a strong sense of integrity, Hamlett leads and provides insight in risk management, compliance management, internal controls management as well as business continuity management within the FINCA Malawi subsidiary while leading the internal controls, risk and compliance team in Malawi.
Hamlett joined FINCA Malawi in June 2018 as Risk and Compliance Manager. Before joining FINCA, he worked for Finance Bank Malawi, Malawi Savings Bank and Nedbank in various functions that include internal auditing, credit underwriting, credit appraisal, quality assurance, credit and risk and compliance management.

Takondwa Chirwa
MARKETING MANAGER
Takondwa Chirwa
Takondwa is an experienced, passionate and highly ambitious marketing professional with a drive to achieve excellence. With hands on experience of 10 years in the financial industry, she is responsible for marketing strategy, marketing transformation, brand management, public relations and corporate communications, and customer experience to ensure the ultimate growth of the FINCA brand in Malawi.
Takondwa joined the FINCA Malawi team as Marketing Manager in January 2022. Before embarking on her FINCA journey, she worked with Ecobank Malawi Limited as Marketing, Brands and Communications Manager for a period of 2 years. At Ecobank, Takondwa grew through the ranks in the 6 years period working as Account Relationship Manager and SME Senior Relationship Manager.
Takondwa is a chartered marketer with the Chartered Institute of Marketing (UK) besides holding a Bachelor of Arts degree from University of Malawi and a certificate in digital money from Digital Frontiers Institute.

Lovemore Ngoma

Lovemore Ngoma
Lovemore is a dedicated, decisive, and mature professional. He is a human resources practitioner who is hardworking with high sense of integrity. Being a focused individual, he is highly skilled in analysing human behaviour and collaborating with others to find amicable people-centric solutions to multi-faceted issues.
Lovemore joined FINCA Limited in June 2022 as Head of Human Resources. With 15 years managerial experience providing innovative management solutions, Lovemore is responsible for the development and oversight of all human resources policies, procedures, strategies and systems in the fields of HR Strategy Formulation; Talent Acquisition; Talent Development & Training (L&D); Performance Management; Compensation, Benefits & Rewards Management; Employee Relations; Succession Planning; Corporate Culture; Change Management and Records Management. Prior to joining FINCA Limited, he was Human Resources Manager for Sunbird Hotels & Resorts units. Prior to that also, he once worked for FINCA Malawi for 2.5 years.
Lovemore holds a Bachelor of Science Degree specialized in Human Resource Development & Management from Share WORLD Open University. He also holds a Diploma in Management: Human Resources Management from The Institute of Administration & Commerce [IAC], RSA.

Martha Mpasanjesi
CORPORATE AUDIT MANAGER
Martha Mpasanjesi
Martha is a dynamic, results driven, highly motivated audit professional with a demonstrated history of working in the audit industry.
She joined FINCA Malawi in February 2023 as the Corporate Audit Manager and leads the audit function of the FINCA subsidiary in Malawi. Before joining FINCA Malawi, Martha formerly worked for Kauya and Partners in Botswana as Internal Audit Manager. Previously, she also worked for Press Corporation Limited as Group Internal Auditor and also works at Deloitte and Touche as Senior Auditor.
Martha holds a Bachelor of Science in Management Information Systems Degree from the University of Malawi and she is a Certified Chartered Accountant (ACCA). She is a Certified Information System Auditor (CISA) with a proven track record in risk-based audit, risk management, risk assessment, internal controls, information system, compliance, operations and governance audits.

Eric Kalea
ACTING INFORMATION SYSTEMS MANAGER
Eric Kalea
Eric Kalea is a dynamic, results driven, organized and enthusiastic Information Technology practitioner with a demonstrated history of working in the banking industry. Skilled in Cyber Security management, IT strategy and experienced professional in IT Security with a degree in computer science in Networking from DMI-St John the Baptist University, he promotes collaborative cross-functional working across team.
Eric joined FINCA Malawi in 2016 as a Network Officer before moving to the position of IT Security Analyst in 2019. Since joining the FINCA team, eric has been seeking to make a strong contribution to the organizational goals through continued professional development, skills utilization, excellent understanding of customer support provision, troubleshooting and networking.
Eric is a professional in information technology with a degree in Computer Science in Networking from DMI-St John the Baptist University. He also holds a Masters in Computer Science from DMI-St Eugene University. Furthermore, he has various certifications in Information Systems including introduction to cybersecurity, cybersecurity essentials and certified in cybersecurity.

Dr Dick Maganga
CHAIRPERSON
Dr Dick Maganga
Dr. Dick Maganga is the current Chairperson for FINCA Malawi Limited. Previously, he sat on a number of Boards, both private and public, the last of which was the board of Vision Fund Malawi from which he retired as chairperson in 2022. He therefore has practical microfinance leadership experience.
Dr Maganga is also an experienced management consultant. He founded a management consultancy firm called AfroManagement and is currently the firm’s lead consultant in leadership development, strategic planning, corporate restructuring, performance management and corporate governance.
His professional experience includes management consulting, financial services, SME development, entrepreneurship development, leadership training and lecturing. He served as Chief Executive Officer of the then New Building Society (now NBS Bank) in Malawi; Executive Director of the Southern Africa Institute for Media Entrepreneurship Development (SAIMED) in Botswana, Entrepreneurial Development Manager for the Southern Africa Media Development Fund (Samdef) in Botswana, Field Services Manager of DEMAT in Malawi, adjunct faculty at the Malawi Institute of Management and Lecturer in Business at the Malawi Polytechnic.
Dr Maganga therefore brings extensive experience both at the corporate governance level and at the executive management level.
He earned his doctorate degree at the University of Bolton in the UK, and his research focused on performance improvement. Prior to that, he obtained a Masters in Business Analysis from the University of Lancaster, also in the UK.

Volker Renner

Volker Renner
Volker Renner has over 20 years of senior executive experience in responsible finance in the Eurasia, Africa, Latin America and Asia regions. From 2004 to 2016 he served FINCA International as Vice President for Credit and Savings, Global COO, and Regional Director for FINCA Eurasia.
Prior to joining FINCA, Volker held positions as CEO of ProCredit Bank (Ukraine) and advisor to banks in Russia and Ukraine. Since 2016, Volker has focused his work on governance and consulting roles, serving as board director and member of Audit, Risk, ALCO, Digital Financial Services, and Credit committees in financial institutions on three continents.

Gwynyth Tansa Mchiela

Gwynyth Tansa Mchiela
Gwynyth is an enthusiastic, dynamic and motivated professional with 12 years’ experience of managing and leading teams to deliver global and local marketing, communication and CSR Programs within the FMCG industry in the private sector. She is very passionate about delivering excellence in standards of execution.
Gwynyth has been a Director of FINCA Limited (Malawi) since January 2019 and currently works with The Kellogg Company East Africa Limited and holds the position of Regional Manager: Sub Equatorial Africa Region & Impulse (Malawi, Mozambique, Zambia, Zimbabwe) as well as driving the growth of the snacks category in Africa (outside RSA). She has previously served as a board member for the Malawi National Council of Sports between 2012 and 2013.
Before joining The Kellogg Company, Gwynyth worked for Carlsberg Malawi Limited (Now Castel Malawi Limited) as Marketing Director. She holds an MSc in Marketing from Edinburgh Business School and a Bachelor of Arts (Honors) in Public Relations & Management from the University of Lincoln- UK.

Diana Cazacu

Diana Cazacu
Mrs. Diana Cazacu is expert in strategy, business and operating models, microfinance institutions set up and transformation, as well as agriculture financing with 20 years of international experience in the financial sector (banking and microfinance) across Africa, Middle East Europe and Asia. She also brings a rich experience in digital financial services, including core banking systems, credit scoring, digital channels.
Mrs. Cazacu is a very passionate professional who has held executive positions in several microfinance banks and networks in Africa including the roles of Chief Operations Officer (COO) at Opportunity Bank Kenya, Chief Operations Officer of Banco Oportunidade Mocambique and Chief Operating Officer/Deputy Chief Executive Officer of Banco Terra Mozambique (Rabobank investment). Additionally, she supervised and guided ten microfinance institutions in Africa, as Regional IT Director for Opportunity International, and held a board member position of a microfinance institution in Afghanistan.
Mrs Cazacu holds a Master certificate as Black Belt Lean Six Sigma and is fluent in Romanian, English and Portuguese. She was appointed board of director for FINCA Limited (Malawi) in January 2020 and has been operating in that role since.

Zangaphee Chimombo

Zangaphee Chimombo
Mr Zangaphee Chimombo is an experienced and highly motivated professional who has worked for twenty years in Information and Communication Technology for global and local corporations. He is currently the Chief Technical Officer for the Malawi Research and Education Network (MAREN) which provides enhanced connectivity and delivers advanced educational services to the research and higher education sector in the country.
Zangaphee began his career in software, web and database development. He has since done network and systems administration before rising through the ranks into management then executive management. He has overseen Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) implementations along the way and is passionate about mentoring the next generation of IT professionals and making the technology mediated experience satisfy the customer. Zanga is a certified Cyber Resilience practitioner.
Zangaphee was appointed board of director for FINCA Limited (Malawi) in January 2020 and has been operating in that role since.

Keith Sandbloom
DIRECTOR
Keith Sandbloom
Keith has twenty years of experience in banking and business environments around the globe including Africa, Asia, Europe, South America and USA. Keith joined FINCA International in 2007. He served as the Chief Operations Officer and Chief Executive Officer for FINCA Zambia for four and a half years where he managed the transformation of FINCA from a non-governmental organization to a regulated, commercial microfinance institution. FINCA Zambia received its deposit-taking microfinance license from the Bank of Zambia in June 2008.
During Keith’s tenure, FINCA Zambia became the leading MFI in the country in terms of client outreach and portfolio quality and achieved three consecutive years of sustainable profitability. In February 2012, Keith was appointed CEO of FINCA Kosovo and led the operation until July 2013. While in Kosovo, Keith navigated the organization through a trying period of regulatory uncertainty and operational restructuring. Since 2013, Keith has been supporting and overseeing the digitization of FINCA’s business model in the five countries that comprise FINCA’s Latin America and Caribbean region.
Prior to joining FINCA, Keith specialized in serving small and medium sized (SME) business clients and non-profit institutions while working for Citibank in multiple international assignments and SunTrust Bank in Washington, DC.
Keith holds a masters’ degree in business administration from Georgetown University in Washington, DC and a bachelor’s degree in business administration (accounting) from California State University.

Steve Mgwadira

Steve Mgwadira
Mr. Steve Mgwadira is a banker whose professional experience spins over 28 years in the commercial bank, microfinance institutions and financial services consultancy spaces. He joins FINCA Malawi with a wide spectra of financial services experience. He is a member of Financial Inclusion Technical Working Group, Malawi Microfinance Network (MAMN).
He has taken lead through a Reserve Bank of Malawi FSTAP project to establish and operationalize the MFI Transaction Hub that among other things saw the set-up of the MFI Hub Limited.
Mr. Mgwadira has also co-authored and published a research paper titled Banki Mmanja, The wallet in your palm using Mobile Network Operator Relationships (2011)
